changes brewing at adcenter
we got an email from Rick Boyko, Managing Director, about how they’re combining the strategy and creative media planning tracks:
“So when you arrive in August, we will be putting the two tracks together for the first time. This is exciting as it breaks down the existing silos and offers a new model of planner, which we are now calling a Communications Strategist. In this world, you will be the person who helps find new ways to communicate ideas with people. You will explore brand concepts and how they relate to the cultures they serve. You will study people and the messages that they are most interested in hearing, You will invent creative media strategies that can be employed to connect your ideas to people. Ultimately, your role as a Communications Strategist is to combine content + contact + context.
As a Communications Strategist, you will find your world to be an ever-changing landscape all centered around creative idea-making. Beginning in the fall, you will find the Adcenter curriculum to be a challenging mixture of all three of the areas that I have discussed. When you graduate, you will be prepared to enter into strategic planning for an ad agency or an internal planning department for a corporation or you will be able to enter into a media company as a creative media strategist.”
